Kids 'n Mind: Current Programs

Distributed Learning

In 2011, Kids 'n Mind established a teaching contract with Anchor Academy - a Distributed Learning (DL) school based out of Salmon Arm, BC. Anchor Academy's DL program provides teacher planning, implementing, assessing and reporting for homeschooling families all over British Columbia. Kids 'n Mind, a small business in Mackenzie, BC, works to support local families who choose this alternative to public education. Currently, Kids 'n Mind has 8 students registered (through Anchor Academy) for the 2014/15 school year. At present, all students fall within the primary grades. Kids 'n Mind owner, Tanya Kallis, is currently the Children's Church director at Living Joy Christian Centre in Mackenzie, BC. Sunday School classes are available for children between ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 12. A parent room is also available (with a live video feed) for parents with infants and toddlers. The main service begins at 10:30 am every Sunday, with children's church starting at approximately 11 am.
